How we use language
In this study we are trying to learn more about communication styles. This study less than 20 minutes and you are automatically entered into a lottery for $200. The odds of winning are 1/1000.
Social Events and Situations
In this study you will be asked to read a story of an imaginary event, and indicate your reactions and opinions to the event and the people involved in the event. The average time it takes the complete the entire experiment is about 30 minutes. You will receive an entry in a lottery for a $100 cash prize for participating in the study. The odds of winning are one in 300.
In this study you will view the opening statements in a legal case from both the prosecuting attorney and defense attorney. Then you will be asked to reach a verdict in the case and indicate why you reached that verdict. This study takes approximately 40 minutes to complete. We are collecting a total of 600 participants so the odds of winning are 1/600.
In this study we will ask you to read about a person's transgressions and then indicate your reactions, including how you imagine you would feel and react in response to the event. After we have collected data from 400 participants we will conduct a lottery for a $200 cash prize so the odds of winning are one in 400.
Perceptions of Social Situations
In this study you will answer questions and indicate your reactions to social situations. The average time it takes to complete the study is approximately 30 minutes. You will receive an entry in a lottery for a $100 cash prize for participating in the study. Since we are enrolling 600 participants, the odds of winning are 1/600. You must be 18 years or older in order to receive the lottery prize.
Legal Situations 2
In this study you will answer questions about your legal attitudes and indicate your reactions to different legal situations. This study less than 30 minutes and you are automatically entered into a lottery for $100. The odds of winning are 1/600.
